PROTECTING HOMES. CREATING POSSIBILITIES.Serving Metro Detroit

A dry foundation. A stronger home.

Basement waterproofing
in Metro Detroit.

Water in your basement is a symptom—not a diagnosis. AmeriBilt assesses how moisture enters your home, then develops a repair and drainage approach suited to the foundation, the site, and the way you use the space.

KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR

When it’s time
to take a closer look.

  • Water at the wall–floor joint or after rainfall
  • Cracks with seepage, staining, or changing width
  • A sump pump that runs frequently or cannot keep up
  • Walls that appear bowed, bulging, or displaced

The right work.
For the right reasons.

Interior drainage

A drainage system collects water and directs it to a sump basin. Its layout depends on where water enters, existing finishes, and a suitable discharge route.

Sump pumps & backup systems

Primary pumps remove collected water; a suitable backup can add protection when power or the primary pump fails. Capacity, power source, discharge and maintenance all matter.

Foundation crack repair

A leaking crack and a moving foundation need different responses. The assessment considers crack pattern, water entry and wall movement before selecting a sealing or repair method.

Exterior waterproofing

Where access and site conditions allow, exterior treatment addresses water at the outside foundation surface. Excavation access, drainage and restoration affect the scope.

Bowed-wall reinforcement

Wall movement requires evaluation separate from moisture sealing. Reinforcement recommendations depend on the wall’s condition; structural concerns may require an engineer.

UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM

Protection works together.

BASEMENT

Collects incoming water and routes it toward the sump basin.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR ESTIMATE

What affects the cost?

Accessible wall and floor lengths, foundation condition, excavation, existing finishes, pump and backup selection, and discharge routing affect the estimate. Structural evaluation and restoration may add separate scope.

Warranty clarity, not assumptions.

Current warranty terms require owner confirmation. Ask for the written coverage, exclusions, product terms and maintenance requirements that apply to your estimate before agreeing to the work.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Let’s make it clear.

Will sealing a crack fix every basement leak?

No. Water can enter through multiple routes. Sealing may address a particular crack, while drainage or other work may be needed elsewhere. Movement-related cracks need a separate assessment.

Do I need a backup sump pump?

A backup may be appropriate when the primary pump is essential to keeping the basement dry. Discuss power outages, pump capacity, discharge and maintenance during your assessment.

Can I finish the basement after waterproofing?

Address active water entry and the underlying moisture conditions before enclosing walls or installing finishes. The project plan should establish when the space is ready.
